GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The M2008A integrated circuit is specifically designed for fully automatic light switching applications where only the LIVE and the RETURN wires are present. Both resistive and inductive loads can be dimmed using the M2008A.

The integrated circuit extracts its power directly from the mains supply without using an external transformer or bridge rectifier.

One or two passive infra red sensor elements can be connected to detect movement. All the necessary analog signal processing and filtering is incorporated in the chip, thereby reducing the external component count.

For increased comfort, the light can be switched ON or OFF softly (i.e. fading). Four operational parameters - motion detect sensitivity, on-time, fade time and dark threshold - are adjustable using external resistors.
