M2005A
Status : Technology Demonstrator
PIR Light Controller IC with AC Dimmer and Push Button Adjust
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The M2005A integrated circuit combines all required functions for a single chip PIR controller circuit for use in security lights and similar applications. The device contains an on-chip rectifier and regulator to allow direct connection to the AC mains supply, via a current limiting resistor. Sensitivity, on-time, light brightness and the fade time are digitally adjustable by means of push buttons. The PIRIN input signal is directly converted to a digital signal. All further signal processing and functions are performed digitally, thereby eliminating drift, associated with most analog PIR controllers.
ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION
The M2005 will lose settings as soon as the mains supply is switched off. This proves to be a severe weakness in the design. The M2000C/ E910.90 with trim pot adjust is better solution. The M2005A is not sold, but is shown on this page as a technology demonstrator.
