New product – E931.97 Low Power Controller for Passive Infra Red (PIR) Applications

The E931.97 is a low power controller for passive infrared (PIR) applications and operates in conjunction with a conventional PIR detector. The signal from the detector is converted to a digital signal and evaluated for motion detection.

Detected motion is indicated with a push-pull output (REL). An additional input (OEN) enables or disables motion detection for day night sensing.
Another output (LED) is activated when the PIR detector voltage is above the threshold that is defined by the sensitivity input (SENS) of the device.

It is possible to adjust the detection sensitivity and the output on-time (ONTIME) to suit most applications.
By enabling or disabling the built in shunt regulator (ENREG), it is possible to use the device in a variety of applications with various supply voltages and current requirements. Due to the low power design, the E931.97 can be used in battery operated applications.

With the digital signal processing and an optimized motion sensing algorithm, the E931.97 is suitable for intruder detectors, occupancy detectors, motion sensor lights and toys.
The integrated circuit is packaged in a cost effective TSSOP-14 or SOIC-14 packages.

Engineering samples of the E931.97 PIR controller are immediately available for evaluation.

More technical information regarding the devices is available in the data sheet and application circuits on the PIR Motion Controller Products page of this web site.
